Pittsfield is a community full of resources and amenities. Located in the hilly, forrested area between the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. Freeport offers a wide variety of choices from history to art to recreation. The area also offers wonderful hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds, as well as a full selection of restaurants from fast food to fine dining. All of this is so very close to Liberty Village and our residents take full advantage of the activities and services our community provides.
Liberty Village of Pittsfield has its own Liberty Village Bus, however,
for those needing transportation beyond what we provide here on
campus, the Pittsfield Senior Center is always willing to
assist our seniors.

Local shopping includes Wal-mart and the County Market. Antique and specialty shopping is also a highlight of the area with a wide variety of shops and experiences.

Pittsfield is home to a plethora of clubs and service organizations. The community strives to be friendly and welcoming, and this is shown by groups such as the Kiwani club, the rotary Organization, the Lions Club, and many more!
The parks and recreation facilities in Pittsfield/Pike County are numerous and popular. Pittsfield Lake, a 200 acre lake locaed within a 680 acre park, offer boating, fishing, RV and primative camping, picnicing, tennis courts, softball diamonds, and many other outdoor activities.
Other recreational facilities include a fitness center, bowling alley, racing track, and a variety of hunting lodges.
For theatrical entertainment, Pittsfield has the Pike County theater offering quality, live theater each season. During the summer months, live entertainment can be found at the Pittsfield Courthouse lawn, with a variety of local bands playing on weekends.
